Future of magazines, er, digital content?

The hyper-rumored iTablet (insert better name here) from Apple will change how we interact with media, not just print (newspaper and magazines). Advertising will be highly targeted thanks to location-based content and ads. But the real fun will be in the interaction between the device and surrounding media/technology/etc.

Imagine you’re scanning your fav mag on the iTablet as you watch the big game on TV. What if the two device/technologies could share content info? Or what if all the apps you purchased for your iPhone worked on your iTablet which then communicated with your HDTV? Better yet, what if the thing made phone calls… and not through a cell carrier but wifi direct? Goosebumps!

Watch how Time, Inc. envisions Sports Illustrated working on a tablet device.
